Dr. Horne has been leading the deployment and development of electrochemical energy systems and technologies for over 25 years with direct experience in flow, lead-acid and lithium ion batteries as well as fuel cells. Craig has served on ESA’s Board since 2014 and has been an active participant in regulatory and legislative processes such as California’s landmark energy storage initiative (AB2514).

Dr. Horne has been leading the deployment and development of electrochemical energy systems and technologies for over 25 years with direct experience in flow, lead-acid and lithium ion batteries as well as fuel cells. Craig has served on ESA’s Board since 2014 and has been an active participant in regulatory and legislative processes such as California’s landmark energy storage initiative (AB2514).

Craig leads SRE’s deployment of integrated storage solutions in the utility, commercial, and services markets.  Prior to joining SRE, Craig led energy storage business development at Renewable Energy Systems (RES).  As EnerVault’s founding CEO and Chairman, Dr. Horne raised over $25M in venture and grant funding. Craig has also served as Vice President of Technology at World Energy Labs, Senior Vice President and Founder of Kainos Energy, and Chair of the Electrochemical Society, San Francisco Section. Dr. Horne is a youth girls lacrosse coach, has over 15 publications and has been awarded 21 U.S. Patents. Dr. Horne holds degrees in Material Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley (Ph.D), UC Los Angeles (M.S.), and the University of Florida (B.S.).
