Modeling and Analysis of Energy Storage Value and Grid Impact Educational Session

Room: Charlotte Mecklenburg
Date: Tuesday, October 16, 2018
Time: 3:30PM - 4:10PM EDT

Before taking a deeper dive into poster presentations on this subject matter, this 30 minute session will cover two stage-setting presentations discussing different takes on the motivation and quantification of benefits and costs for energy storage. Remarks will especially focus on the incorporation of storage valuation into the planning and operations of electric utilities and system operators.

The two presenters include:

  • Randell Johnson, PhD featuring remarks on The Acelerex Study of Energy Storage Value and Impacts in the New York Energy Storage Roadmap

and

  • Paul Denholm, PhD discussing his thoughts on The Impact of Renewable Energy on the Potential for Storage to Provide Peaking Capacity
